ANF reports seizing 110.686 kg of drugs in 11 operations, 43.68 kg of it cannabis

The Daily Independent reported on 14 September 2026 that the Anti-Narcotics Force had arrested 12 suspects and recovered 110.686 kg of narcotics worth more than 28.9 million rupees in 11 operations in Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Gilgit and Rawalpindi. According to the agency the cannabis seized was 18 kg of hashish from a vehicle near the Warsak Road bus terminal in Peshawar, 9.6 kg from a vehicle near City Park in Gilgit, 9.6 kg from a rickshaw near the Sohrab Goth bus terminal in Karachi, 6.4 kg of herbal cannabis from a bag at a bus terminal near Hub River Road in Karachi and 80 g from a motorcycle rider on GT Road in Rawalpindi, which together amount to 43.68 kg. The largest single seizure was 55.5 kg of opium from a vehicle near Nasir Bagh Road in Peshawar; the rest was methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine, most of it found on airport passengers and in courier parcels.
