Police seize 220 kg of Delhi bound ganja in Sonbhadra

A Press Trust of India report carried by ThePrint said that the superintendent of police for Sonbhadra, Abhishek Verma, reported that a team checking vehicles near Gangwar village in the Robertsganj police station area late on 13 September 2026 found a six wheeled truck parked near Hinduwari Tiraha. Two men inside jumped out and attempted to flee and were caught. A concealed compartment built into the front of the cargo area held 220 kilogrammes of cannabis in seven sacks, which police valued at more than 1.1 crore rupees. The two men arrested, both residents of Budaun district, told police under questioning that the consignment was being moved from Odisha to Delhi. Two mobile telephones and 4,000 rupees in cash were also recovered and a case was registered.
