The outlet reported that 14 nursery beds holding approximately 140,000 cannabis saplings were found during searches at Mainamura, Anandapur, Ghatighar and Baga Lunga, and that the saplings were uprooted and destroyed on the spot. Police put the destination market value of the destroyed crop at about 28 lakh rupees. The operation was led by Inspector Tapas Das, officer in charge of Sonamura police station, who told reporters that such operations would continue.
