Sonamura police and Border Security Force recover 27 kg of dry cannabis at Batadola

Tripura Star News reported that Sonamura police, operating jointly with the 81st Battalion of the Border Security Force, conducted a raid and search on the night of 11 September 2026 at Batadola on the UNC Nagar border road under Sonamura police station and recovered 27 kilogrammes of dry cannabis. The consignment was seized as unclaimed and a case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, with an investigation opened into its ownership. Police put the destination market value at about 2 lakh rupees. No arrests were made. The officer in charge of Sonamura police station, Inspector Tapas Das, told reporters that such operations would continue.
