The Tribune reported that Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport seized 27.45 kg, gross weight, of suspected hydroponic weed or ganja and arrested four passengers on 9 September. The article says two passengers arriving from Bangkok were kept under surveillance and that their checked baggage was collected by two passengers who had arrived from Kathmandu; all four were then intercepted. Officials called it an alleged cross-country smuggling network and said inquiries into the passengers' roles and the intended movement of the consignment were continuing.
