Police uproot 74.432 kg of cannabis crop on grazing land at Kewad in Beed

Daijiworld reported that police raided a public grazing area at Kewad village in Kaij tehsil of Beed district on the evening of 7 September 2026 and found cannabis being cultivated among tall grass in front of a residence. According to the report the team uprooted 74.432 kg of cannabis crop, which police valued at about Rs 14.88 lakh. A 22 year old man described as the occupant of the house was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The report gives no plant count and no cultivated area, and it does not say whether the uprooted crop was destroyed or retained as evidence.
