Blida police seize more than 70 kg of cannabis resin and dismantle a cross border network

The Directorate General of National Security said in a communiqué reported on 30 August 2026 that the research and intervention brigade of the Blida wilaya police had dismantled an organised transnational network and seized more than 70 kilograms of kif traité which the DGSN stated had come from Morocco. According to the communiqué the investigation established that the network's activity ran from the country's western borders towards the central wilayas. Operations at Blida and at Tlemcen, conducted with the competent prosecutor's office, led to the arrest of five members of the network and the recovery of two passenger cars. The accused were brought before the prosecutor at the Blida court.
