Jashpur police seize 520 kg of cannabis and three vehicles under Operation Aaghat

India Today reported on 28 August 2026 that police in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh had seized 520 kg of cannabis and three vehicles in three separate operations under the state campaign Operation Aaghat. According to the report two operations in the Kunkuri police station area accounted for 494 kg recovered from an unregistered pickup and a car, and a third yielded 26 kg. Four people were arrested and one driver fled. The Superintendent of Police, Lal Umed Singh, said preliminary questioning indicated the consignment was being moved from Odisha to Uttar Pradesh, and police valued the seized cannabis and the three vehicles together at about Rs 3 crore.
