Narcotics Control Bureau arrests a Madurai couple with 3 kg of hashish near the Porur toll plaza in Chennai and says it was bound for Sri Lanka

The New Indian Express reported that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Chennai Zonal Unit on Monday 24 August intercepted a Madurai-based couple as they were about to board a bus near the Porur toll plaza and recovered 3 kg of hashish worth around Rs 75 lakh. The article says the hashish was allegedly intended to be trafficked to Sri Lanka and that inquiry revealed the woman had close links with Angoda Lokka, a deceased Sri Lankan gangster and drug trafficker. It says the NCB is now probing the source of the contraband, its intended recipients and the network allegedly involved.
