Navy patrol recovers 14 kilogrammes of cannabis thrown into the sea off Skouw Sae

ANTARA reported that personnel of the Skouw Sae naval post intercepted a motorised boat fitted with a 40 horsepower engine in waters off Skouw Sae near Jayapura, and that those aboard threw sacks into the sea as the patrol closed. The report said 14 kilogrammes of cannabis were recovered from the water. Seven Papua New Guinea nationals were described as aboard, and the commander of Naval Regional Command X, Major General Sugianto of the marine corps, said they fled back into Papua New Guinea waters without being arrested. The command said a rigid buoyancy boat with two 300 horsepower engines had been deployed to improve interception on the crossing.
