Coke Oven police seize about 53 kg of ganja near Durgapur barrage

Uttarbanga Sambad reported that police seized about 53 kg of ganja and arrested three people in an operation mounted on a tip-off. The paper said the operation was carried out in the area next to the Durgapur barrage by officers of Coke Oven police station under the Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate. According to the report the three had brought the consignment to Durgapur by bus from Odisha and got off near the barrage, and a search produced the 53 kg. The paper put the market value at several lakh rupees without giving a figure, and said police were investigating who else was involved and where the consignment was to be delivered.
