North Sumatra police seize 169.6 kg of Aceh cannabis at two sites in Sunggal and arrest three men

The narcotics directorate of the North Sumatra regional police reported seizing 169.6 kilogrammes of cannabis at two locations in Sunggal subdistrict, Deli Serdang regency, on 8 August 2026. Officers acting on a report of a vehicle carrying cannabis from Aceh to Medan kept watch along the Medan to Binjai road and stopped a car carrying 65 packages weighing 52 kilogrammes, arresting two men from Aceh. Questioning led officers to a second site at Medan Krio in the same subdistrict, where a third man described as a recipient was arrested and the remaining quantity was recovered. The narcotics director, Kombes Pol Andy Arisandi, put the combined total at 169,600 grammes.
