Man arrested with 18.5 kg of cannabis on the Konark Express at Hyderabad

Officers of Telangana's EAGLE Force with railway police arrested a 22-year-old man, Niranjan Pradhan, with 18.5 kg of cannabis on the Konark Express at Hyderabad on 7 August 2026 during a checking operation. Police valued the seizure at Rs 9.26 lakh and said Pradhan was carrying the consignment from Odisha towards Pune on the instructions of a supplier, Deepak Pradhan, who is absconding. The man and the seized cannabis were handed to the Government Railway Police at Nampally for investigation. Reported by Telangana Today on 7 August 2026.
