Odisha STF arrest a man in Purba Medinipur over an alleged interstate ganja network

OdishaTV reported that the Special Task Force of the Odisha Crime Branch arrested a man in Purba Medinipur district, describing him as an alleged organiser of an interstate ganja trafficking network who had been absconding since January 2025. The report said the arrest followed a 25 day operation in West Bengal. According to the report the network procured ganja from the Kandhamal, Boudh and Sonepur districts of Odisha and supplied it onward to other states, and investigators said the network used a half torn currency note as an identification marker between supplier and receiver. The report gives no quantity, no value and no NDPS section, and its framing throughout is the arresting agency's account.
