Jhargram police seize 156.2 kg of ganja from a pickup van at Guptamani on National Highway 49

Ei Muhurte reported that the Special Operations Group of the Jhargram district police, together with Jhargram police station, kept watch through the night on the Kharagpur to Chichira National Highway 49 and stopped a white pickup van in the Guptamani area. Officers recovered 156.2 kg of ganja. The report named a driver and a helper as arrested and said the operation was led by a subdivisional police officer. According to the report the consignment was moving from Jharkhand to Kolkata, a case was registered under several sections of the NDPS Act, and the Jhargram court ordered seven days of police custody.
