Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seize 6 kg 670 g of hydroponic cannabis flown in from Bangkok at Bagdogra airport

Uttarbanga Sambad reported that officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence arrested two men at Bagdogra airport on a charge of moving high-grade cannabis, described in the report as hydroponic weed, from Bangkok. Both were named in the report and 6 kg 670 g was seized, carried in 17 airtight packets. The report said the two work as perfume traders, had travelled to Bangkok about fifteen days earlier, and were detained after landing when they tried to leave the airport past customs officers. A drug detection kit was used to confirm the material. Counsel for the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence told the paper the two had been to Bangkok more than once before and that questioning was under way to establish who in Siliguri was to receive the consignment.
