Railway Protection Force recover 18 kg and 13.80 kg of unclaimed ganja in two cases at New Jalpaiguri railway station
Pratidin Time reported that routine checking by Railway Protection Force personnel at New Jalpaiguri railway station on 20 April produced two separate recoveries of unclaimed ganja. The report gave the first as 18 kg valued at 9 lakh rupees and the second as 13.80 kg worth about 6.90 lakh rupees, and states no combined figure for the two. The seized material was handed to the Government Railway Police outpost at New Jalpaiguri. The report placed these recoveries inside a three-day Northeast Frontier Railway operation running from 20 to 22 April across New Jalpaiguri and Agartala stations, in which three people were held at Agartala and none at New Jalpaiguri, where the ganja was unclaimed. DD News independently gives the New Jalpaiguri figure as approximately 32 kg without the split.
