Pradhannagar police seize about 32 kg of ganja hidden in vegetable sacks at Siliguri Junction

Uttarbanga Sambad reported that plain-clothes police from Pradhannagar police station seized about 32 kg of ganja and arrested one man in the Siliguri Junction area at night. The report named the man as a resident of ward 45 of Siliguri and said he was waiting for a bus with two sacks. Police said he first told them the sacks held vegetables bound for a neighbouring district, and that a search found vegetables on top and five packets of ganja underneath. Police told the paper he had said he brought ganja from Cooch Behar, stored it in Siliguri and intended to move it to nearby districts and to Kolkata, and that a case was registered under the NDPS Act.
