Phansidewa police seize at least 145 kg of ganja from a bamboo lorry on National Highway 27

Uttarbanga Sambad reported that Phansidewa police stopped a Bihar bound lorry loaded with bamboo on National Highway 27 at Mohammad Bux on Wednesday and recovered at least 145 kg of ganja once the bamboo was moved. Two Bihar residents were arrested and a narcotics case was registered against both. The paper wrote that Phansidewa has become a corridor for ganja trafficking, and that consignments are caught in the block from time to time concealed behind vegetables or bran. The circle inspector at Naxalbari was quoted. Police said the consignment had been loaded in Cooch Behar.
