Cooch Behar police seize 8 kg 500 g and about 10 kg of ganja in separate operations at Nishiganj and on the Pundibari to Falakata highway

Uttarbanga Sambad reported that Cooch Behar police arrested three people with ganja in operations across several areas. The paper said that in the afternoon the Nishiganj outpost police searched a passenger bus running from Cooch Behar towards Mathabhanga and recovered eight and a half kilograms of ganja from a black backpack, arresting a man from the Sindrani area of North 24 Parganas and an associate. An additional superintendent of police said a case had been registered under the NDPS Act and that it was being examined who else was connected. The paper separately reported that Ghoksadanga police arrested one man with about ten kilograms of ganja during checkpoint searching on the Pundibari to Falakata national highway, recovered from a vehicle. The two figures are carried separately because the report gives no combined total.
