Railway Protection Force seize 121 kg of cannabis from the Uttarbanga Express at Sealdah station

A Railway Protection Force team of Eastern Railway searched the Uttarbanga Express after it reached Sealdah station from north Bengal and recovered 121 kg of cannabis hidden in six bags. An Eastern Railway official said the consignment was valued at more than 24 lakh rupees. Four men, two women and two juveniles were apprehended. Those held and the seized material were handed to the Government Railway Police at Sealdah, where a case was registered under the NDPS Act. The report gives the origin only as north Bengal, which spans several districts.
