BSF and NCB seize 473 kg of ganja at Rajpur village on the Cooch Behar border

A Press Information Bureau release said the 78 Battalion of the Border Security Force, with personnel of the Narcotics Control Bureau Siliguri Zonal Unit, ran a joint operation on 8 July 2025 in the India and Bangladesh bordering village of Rajpur in Cooch Behar. The release said 473 kg of ganja was recovered from the residence of a suspected smuggler, with a K-9 unit taking part. This is the only item in the district corpus that carries an explicitly stated operation date rather than one derived from a weekday.
