Bhorer Alo police seize 35 kg of cannabis concealed inside brooms at Krishnanagar Colony in Rajganj

Uttarbanga Sambad reported that Bhorer Alo police acted on a tip-off and raided Paglabasti in Krishnanagar Colony, under Binnaguri gram panchayat in Rajganj, seizing 35 kg of ganja. The report said the ganja was packed inside plastic-wrapped flower brooms so that the brooms looked ordinary, and put the market value at about 4 lakh rupees. Three women were arrested and named in the report, two described as mother and daughter from Mathabhanga block in Cooch Behar and one as a relative from Balurghat in Dakshin Dinajpur. A deputy commissioner of police of the Siliguri Police Commissionerate told the paper that investigators were examining which places in Cooch Behar the ganja was collected from. The report said the three were produced at the Jalpaiguri court and remanded for three days.
