Patiram police seize 14 kg 472 g of ganja at Amtala and arrest two

Uttarbanga Sambad reported that Patiram police seized 14 kg 472 g of ganja at Amtala at about half past nine at night and detained two men. The paper said police had information that two young men had set out from Siliguri towards Dakshin Dinajpur with ganja, that a special team was formed and that an informer followed them in plain clothes. The two travelled from Siliguri by government bus, got off at Raiganj, changed to a private bus, got off at Patiram and hired a toto towards Ichhamati, where police were waiting at Amtala crossing. Both were named in the report and given as residents of Ichhamati Daspara in the Kumarganj police station area. The toto was seized and the driver's role placed under investigation.
