Alipurduar police seize 19 kg of ganja from a toto at Alipurduar Junction and arrest two civic volunteers and a home guard

Ei Muhurte reported that the anti-crime team of Alipurduar police station acted on a tip-off in the afternoon, stopped a toto in front of Alipurduar Junction railway station and recovered 19 kg of ganja from a bag. Three people were arrested and named in the report: a home guard from Dewanhat in Cooch Behar, and two civic volunteers, one of them the toto driver. The report said all three were serving with the Government Railway Police at Alipurduar Junction. According to the report the consignment was being taken by train towards south Bengal, and police seized the men's mobile phones and began investigating who else was in the network. Sangbad Pratidin corroborated the seizure the same evening.
