Beldanga police and the state STF seize 67 kg of ganja from a car on National Highway 12 at Bhabta

Bartaman Patrika reported that the seizure was made on the Friday night and credited it to Beldanga police together with the state special task force. Ei Muhurte, reporting the same seizure, said Beldanga police station began checkpoint searching on National Highway 12 after learning that goods were being moved from north Bengal towards Kolkata in a white four wheeler, that the vehicle was searched in the Bhabta area and that two sacks taken out of it held 67 kg of ganja in total. Two men were arrested and named in both reports, both given as residents of Siliguri. They told police under questioning that they were taking the consignment from Siliguri to Kolkata, and Beldanga police asked the court for seven days of police custody.
