Asansol Durgapur police seize about two quintals of ganja hidden under tomato sacks at Dishergarh

The Statesman reported that the Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate intercepted an interstate consignment in the Dishergarh area, where Purulia, Paschim Bardhaman and Jharkhand meet. The report said approximately two quintals of ganja were seized, five people were arrested and a vehicle and a pickup van were impounded. A deputy commissioner of police of the commissionerate said the ganja was carried underneath bags of tomatoes being brought from Odisha. Kulti police and the commissionerate detective department were reported as setting up a roadblock near Subhas Setu at Dishergarh Ghat and seizing ganja from both vehicles.
