Memari police seize about 31 kg of ganja from a car at Raibari Mor

Sangbad Pratidin reported that about 31 kg of ganja was recovered in Purba Bardhaman in an operation late at night, and that the consignment was being moved by car. According to the paper Memari police station received information from a confidential source and began checkpoint searching in the Raibari Mor area, where a four-wheeler drew suspicion and was stopped. The report says the two occupants gave inconsistent answers under initial questioning and a search of the vehicle produced several packets of ganja. Those arrested were named as residents of Murshidabad and of central Kolkata, and the paper put the market value at close to 45 lakh rupees.
