Jalpaiguri police seize 14 kg 67 g of cannabis from a toto near the Teesta embankment

TaazaTV reported that the Special Operations Group of the Jalpaiguri district police acted on a tip-off about a toto carrying cannabis along the Teesta embankment from Maynaguri towards Jalpaiguri. Officers set a trap near the Senpara embankment market, stopped the vehicle and searched the passengers. Police recovered 14 kg 67 g of cannabis and arrested a man named in the report and described as a 48 year old resident of Sitai in Cooch Behar district. The report said police believed the consignment was bound for Malda by rail from Jalpaiguri town station, and that a case was registered under the NDPS Act.
