ETV Bharat and The Tribune report different 2024 charas seizure totals for Kullu district

ETV Bharat reported on 6 January 2025 that Kullu Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Chauhan gave the district's 2024 figures as 73 kg of charas seized, 241 charas cases registered and 231 people arrested, against 117 kg, 299 cases and 299 arrests in 2023. The same Hindi-language report says police destroyed more than 26 lakh cannabis plants in 2024, printing the count as "26,52,77", along with 168,723 opium plants. The Tribune, publishing the same day, gave Kullu district's 2024 charas seizures as 62.92 kg and, citing Police Department data, put arrests in the district for possessing charas and other drugs at 215.
