Home ministry gives Rajya Sabha the quantity of ganja and hashish destroyed in West Bengal over five years to 2023

Answering Rajya Sabha unstarred question 1832, the Minister of State for Home Affairs tabled state wise quantities of narcotics destroyed over the five years 2019 to 2023 as reported to the Narcotics Control Bureau by drug law enforcement agencies. In the West Bengal block the ganja row in kilograms reads 2,684.252 for 2019, 122.151 for 2020, 2,962.179 for 2021, nil for 2022 and 1,268.755 for 2023. The hashish row in the same block reads 9.428 for 2019, 46.661 for 2021 and nil for 2020, 2022 and 2023. The same annexure records no cannabis plant row for West Bengal in any of the five years. These are destruction figures and are a different measure from seizure totals.
