Sonapur outpost police seize 1.533 kg of ganja on the Sonapur to Hasimara road near Chilapata

Uttarbanga Sambad reported that two men were arrested late at night while moving ganja through Chilapata along the Sonapur to Hasimara state road, and were caught near Bania forest village. The officer in charge of the Sonapur outpost told the paper that the raid followed a tip-off, that two people were arrested and that their motorcycle was seized. The report named the two, one from Alipurduar-I block and one from Debirhat in Cooch Behar, and said 1.533 kg of ganja was recovered. Police learned that the pair were carrying the ganja from somewhere in Cooch Behar to Kalchini and stopped them before they arrived. The report adds that investigators say intoxicants are also moved onward from there into Bhutan, which is attributed to investigators.
