Nishiganj police seize about 23 kg of ganja and arrest four including a civic volunteer

Uttarbanga Sambad reported that about 23 kg of ganja was seized from a small vehicle at Nishiganj and four people were arrested, among them a civic volunteer posted at Dinhata police station. The paper said officers led by the Nishiganj outpost officer in charge set up checkpoint searching after information was received, stopped a small vehicle and questioned the driver and three others. Senior officers reached the spot and the seizure was made in the presence of the Mathabhanga 2 block development officer. The superintendent of police told the paper a case had been registered under the NDPS Act and that the four would be produced in court the following day.
