Army destroys three-acre cannabis cultivation in the heart of Yala park

The Army carried out a special operation inside Yala National Park, destroying a three-acre cannabis cultivation and seizing 1,600 kg of processed cannabis. Three suspects were arrested. Villagers had been complaining that illegal cannabis cultivation inside the park was displacing elephants into nearby villages. Residents accused wildlife officers of failing to monitor the park, allowing cultivators to enter and farm freely.
