Home ministry gives Lok Sabha state wise NDPS seizure figures showing West Bengal cannabis seizures for 2020 to 2022

Answering Lok Sabha unstarred question 1434, the Minister of State for Home Affairs tabled state and drug wise seizure figures under the NDPS Act for 2020 to 2022, drawn from National Crime Records Bureau data. In the cannabis based drugs column West Bengal is recorded at 23,852.025 kg for 2020, 27,851.65 kg for 2021 and 18,313.855 kg for 2022. The all state totals in the same column are 847,872.951 kg for 2020, 784,487.963 kg for 2021 and 1,710,092.213 kg for 2022. The answer also lists the border measures the government cited, including the empowerment of the Border Security Force and the Sashastra Seema Bal under the NDPS Act.
