Birbhum police seize 615 kg of ganja from a hidden car chamber at Sainthia

Sangbad Pratidin reported that Birbhum district police seized ganja worth about 75 lakh rupees on the morning of Republic Day and arrested four people, and that 615 kg was being carried in a four-wheeler at Sainthia. The district superintendent of police said the four were taken at Chartala Mor in the Sainthia police station area, and that checkpoint searches were running across the district for Republic Day with the vehicle under surveillance for two days. According to the report a chamber had been built inside the vehicle, the sacks of ganja placed inside it and paper boxes stacked on top, and the route avoided the national highway and ran through the district towards Durgapur and on to Jharkhand or Bihar.
