Special Task Force seize 824 kg of ganja from a truck at Purbasthali

Sangbad Pratidin reported that the Special Task Force recovered a ganja-laden truck in the Shibtala area of Purbasthali police station and seized 824 kg of ganja, with five people arrested. The paper said the force learned from a confidential source that a lorry carrying ganja was travelling from Manipur to Purbasthali at night, and mounted surveillance in the Shibtala area of Kalekhantala 2 panchayat. Officers moved as soon as the truck stopped, and a search produced the ganja. The truck driver and helper were arrested first, after which two further people were questioned and, according to the report, admitted the trafficking.
