Birbhum police recover 40 sacks of ganja from a chamber under a poultry farm at Kachujore

Sangbad Pratidin reported that police raiding a poultry farm in the Kachujore area of Sadaipur police station found a chamber beneath it holding ganja, and arrested the owner of the farm. The paper said the farm stood behind the Kachujore market near the Bakreshwar thermal power station, that police acted on a tip-off, and that 40 sacks of ganja were recovered from below ground in an operation led by a deputy superintendent of police. The district superintendent of police said the structure looked like a poultry farm from outside but had a chamber beneath it, and that a brick room built under the ground could hold 300 to 400 kg. That figure describes the capacity of the room as stated by the superintendent and is not a quantity seized, and the report gives no weight for the ganja recovered.
