Kullu police report 263.4 kg of charas seized and 110,872 cannabis plants destroyed so far in 2021

The Tribune reported on 16 November 2021 that Kullu police had seized 263.4 kg of charas so far that year, against 169.7 kg the previous year. Superintendent of Police Gurdev Chand Sharma said 184 cases had been registered under the NDPS Act and 277 people arrested for possessing charas and other synthetic drugs during the year, in which police also seized 296.4 kg of ganja. He said 110,872 cannabis plants had been destroyed in different parts of the district that year. The report says charas produced in the Banjar, Kullu, Manali, Anni and Nirmand areas is known as Malana Cream.
