Himachal Pradesh police report seizing 122 kg of charas and 295 kg of ganja in a Kullu Valley operation

Daijiworld carried an IANS report on 14 January 2021 in which Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu said police had seized 122 kg of charas and 295 kg of ganja worth about ₹4 crore and arrested four people in a 20-hour operation in the interiors of the Kullu Valley. A 27-member Kullu police team including Special Investigation Unit personnel arrested two suppliers and seized about 111 kg of charas in the Banjar area. A night raid on a house in Sajahu village recovered 11.588 kg of charas and two unlicensed guns and led to two more arrests. The 295 kg of ganja came from a separate case. The report says police records put the land under cannabis cultivation in the Kullu Valley alone at 50,000 acres.
