Kullu district police data record 164 foreign nationals arrested with drugs since 2003

The Tribune reported on 26 July 2018 that Kullu district police data record 164 foreign nationals arrested with drugs in the district since 2003. Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri said four foreign nationals had been arrested so far that year, three of them with charas. Earlier cases cited in the report include a British national arrested with 2 kg of charas at Goj village in 2008 and, in February 2017, the recovery of 126 kg of ganja and 9 litres of hashish oil from a Californian's rented apartment in the Naggar area. The report says cannabis continues to be grown on forest land in high-altitude areas the police cannot reach.
