Nanakorn 7031 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected at Mae Sa Mai village in Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, northern Thailand, on 7 August 1996 by W. Nanakorn and colleagues. The Forest Herbarium (BKF) in Bangkok holds the sheet as accession BKF 233906, barcode SN 262497.[1] It carries the label of the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden Herbarium, number 7031.
Collection and locality
The printed Flora of Thailand label of the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden Herbarium (QBG) gives the QBG number 7031, the locality as Maesa Mai village, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province and the date as 7/8/1996. It leaves the altitude and the coordinate blank.[2] The Forest Herbarium's catalogue reads the date as 7 August 1996.[1]
Recorded local name and use
The label gives the local name as Kancha and the note as Shrub 2–4 m high. Flower white. Cultivated for narcotic use.[2]
Specimen and identification
The label names the family Cannabaceae and the plant Cannabis sativa L. It gives the collector as W. Nanakorn et al.[2] A tag tied to the stem reads W. Nanakron et al 7031.[2] The catalogue records the plant as Cannabis sativa L. and the collector as Nanakhon, W.[1] Nanakorn 8642 is a later cannabis gathering by the same collector.
