Afghan Mix General Population 2019 is a seed accession of cannabis landraces from northern Afghanistan, held by the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) as G 33681. Angus donated the seed, and the system received it on 22 August 2023.[1] The donor's note dates the collection to the winter of 2019–20.[1]

Collection Details

The donor's note says that seed of cannabis landraces was gathered that winter from five old centres of cultivation in northern Afghanistan: Balkh, Badakhshan, Mazar-i-Sharif, where it says the type called Mazari is grown, Kunduz and Herat. On the way back a driver mixed all the bags together, so the lot is a mixture of the five. The note gives the purposes as dry-sieved charas, bhang and seed for food.[1]
