Balkh 'Green bud' General Population 2018 is a seed accession of a cannabis landrace from Balkh, Afghanistan, held by the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) as G 33688. Angus donated the seed, and the system received it on 22 August 2023.[1] The donor's note names Lucas Strazzeri as the collector and dates the collection to December 2018.[1]
Collection Details
According to the note, the seed came from planted fields on the outskirts of the town of Balkh, in Balkh Province. The note names the lot "green bud" and notes that the plants averaged about 2 m tall and were heavily branched, with green flower heads and a floral smell, and many carried ripe seed. It says no modern hybrids were grown in the area, and the donor describes the lot as a charas landrace.[1]
