Malawi Gold 2022 is a seed accession of the cannabis line that East Africa Genes sold under the name Malawi Gold and now lists under the heading Malawi. The seller says it is widely grown and smoked in the central and northern districts of Malawi, and offers it among the lines it calls landrace sativas.[1][2]

Geography

The catalogue places the line in the central and northern districts of Malawi, with a soil pH of 5.0 to 5.5.[2] A 2026 blog post says the farmers of central Malawi feed their small farms with goat and cow manure.[3]

History

The line was headed Malawi Gold from April 2022 to June 2023, when the catalogue called it "definitely one of the best African landrace sativa".[1][4] The current page heads it Malawi and calls it a sativa "in the same tier as Malawi Gold".[2] In a 2025 review the seller wrote of buds grown in Malawi and taken by road to Kenya.[5]

Cultivation Details

In 2023 the catalogue's figure for "Outdoor Vegetation & Flowering" was 16 to 18 weeks.[4] The 2026 post says bud sites form after about eight weeks indoors.[3]

Aroma

The catalogue described a sweet citrus taste.[1]

Effects

The catalogue describes an instant mental and physical stimulation.[2]
