Cooper 1104 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected in a swamp at a place its label gives as Chukka. Timpu., in Bhutan, on 3 July 1914 by R. E. Cooper. The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh holds the sheet as E00150670.[1][2]
Collection and locality
The printed Flora of Bhutan label is filled in by hand: locality Chukka. Timpu., date 3/7/14 and altitude 3000'+, above 3,000 feet (about 914 metres). Its printed foot reads R. E. Cooper, Collector for A. K. Bulley, Esq., Cheshire.[3] The catalogue gives the locality as Bhutan:Chukka Timpu and the date as 3 July 1914.[1] Because the label gives a lower limit and no figure, the infobox stores no elevation.
Habitat
The remarks line reads 4' growing in swamp, a plant of four feet, about 1.2 metres, in a swamp.[3] The catalogue gives the same height and the habitat as in swamp.[1]
Specimen and identification
The label names the plant Cannabis sativa L., and the catalogue determines it the same way.[1] Edinburgh publishes the sheet image under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence.[3] Cooper collected Cooper 1174 (1914) at the same named place the next day, at 4,500 feet. Edinburgh holds four other Bhutanese sheets from Cooper's 1914 collecting: Cooper 3143 (1914), Cooper 1174 (1914), Cooper 1486 (1914) and Cooper 3352 (1914).
