Yang s.n., Miaofeng Shan is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected on Miao Feng Shan (妙峰山, Mount Miaofeng), then in Hopeh and now in Beijing, China, on 17 June 1934 by Y. C. Yang. Peking University holds the sheet as PEY0025464[1].
Collection and locality
The sheet carries a typed label of the herbarium of Tsing Hua University (清華大學植物標本室). It gives the family Moraceae, the name Cannabis sativa L., the place Hopeh Miao Feng Shan, the collector Y. C. Yang, the herbarium number 8045, written in ink, and the date June. 17 1934. A tag tied to the plants reads 妙峯山 and 6/17, and a second label of the same herbarium stamps the number 008045 over a struck-out 08278.[2] The catalogue gives C. Y. Yang and the year 1934, with no place.[1]
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries several slender plants with their roots, palmate leaves of narrow, serrate leaflets and small clusters of flowers in the leaf axils. The label names the plant Cannabis sativa L.; the determiner's signature was not read.[2] Another Tsing Hua University sheet of a Yang, with no place, is Yang s.n. (1930s).
