Voronov 10 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa gathered on a south-facing slope by the Irtysh near Ust-Kamenogorsk, today's Oskemen in East Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan, on 7 July 1932 by A. G. Voronov. The Moscow University Herbarium holds the sheet as MW0062809.[1]
Collection and locality
The label is stamped ВОРОНОВ А. Г. Растения Алтая 1932 г. (A. G. Voronov, Plants of the Altai, 1932) on an older printed label reused for it, whose own text shows through and is not this specimen's. It is completed by hand Cannabis sativa L., № 10, Близ гор. Устькаменорска. Склон южной экспозиции у Иртыша. (near the town of Ust-Kamenogorsk; a south-facing slope by the Irtysh), 7/VII 1932 г. and signed as collected and determined by А. Воронов.[2] The catalogue gives the collector, the date and a point, with no number or locality.[1] Ust-Kamenogorsk is the Russian name of Oskemen. Voronov gathered cannabis the next year at the other end of the country: Voronov 403 (1933).
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries several slender, branched stems, one of them with its roots.[2] Voronov named the plant Cannabis sativa L., the name under which the catalogue files it; no later determination slip is on the sheet.[2][1]
