Thamlai Phra Sumen (ยาทำลายพระสุเมรุ) is a powdered medicine of Thai traditional medicine made of 23 drugs, among them cannabis flower. It is given for the wind disorder lom plieo dam and, as a supporting medicine, for muscle weakness after paralysis.[1]: 87[2]: 41 It was one of the 16 cannabis formulas that the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine named in January 2019 for use once the narcotics law allowed it.[3] Vichai Chokevivat traces it to the second volume of Khun Sophit Bannalak's textbook of Thai traditional medicine, printed in 1961.[4]: 334, 340

The national list of essential herbal medicines of 2023 gives the formula by weight. In 714 grams, peeled pepper seed makes up 462; hatsakhun thet and camphor 21 each; the two myrobalans 20 and 19; buk ro 18; the root of chettamun phloeng 17; cannabis 16; dried ginger 15; five kinds of thian seed from 14 down to 10; two kot 9 and 8; sweet flag 7; rock salt 6; long-pepper flower 5; cloves 4; cardamom 3; mace 2 and nutmeg 1. It is taken at 2 grams twice a day before meals, as a powder or in capsules, and is not given to children under 16.[1]: 87 The cannabis is the inflorescence, 2.24 per cent of the formula.[2]: 41, 43

At the department's hospital in Bangkok, patients given it between October 2019 and December 2020 were treated mostly for muscle pain, paralysis, numbness, sleeplessness, osteoarthritis of the knee and Parkinson's disease.[2]: 41 At the Thai-medicine cannabis clinic of the Rajamangala University of Technology Isan in Sakon Nakhon it was the second most prescribed cannabis formula between February 2020 and January 2022.[5]
