The page's sources are BNN and police releases and press reports of eradication operations from 2018 to 2026, with two 2026 reports of loads traced to Mandailing Natal. They record the fields as officers found and destroyed them: area, plant counts, plant heights and ages, elevations, the time taken to reach the sites and, in BNN's 2018 release alone, coordinates and a planting density of six plants per square metre. None describes the variety, its seed source, its flowering or how growers select it, none names a crop grown with the cannabis, and none reports a plant kept for a herbarium or a seed collection.
The plant counts differ widely per hectare: the 2018 density against, for example, 25,000 plants over six hectares in 2020 and about 3,000 over three hectares in May 2026.
GBIF's four preserved cannabis specimens from Indonesia are three from Java and one from the Karo plateau (1919, Lörzing 6821 (1919)). None is from Mandailing Natal.
